purpose

The purpose of this sop is to guide through  the process of export and import of lab data to and from the central server.

Exporting The Master Database (At the central server)
Procedure

1) Open the Export Import .exe in the lab server  i.e C:\PCSLABPLUS\ExpoImpo.exe

2) On the Export/Import window click on export Master.

3) On the Export/Import window click on Apply.Each table is exported individually and should be marked 'DONE' after a successful export

4) After a successful export,the exported file is placed at C:\PCSLABPLUS\pcslabplus.mdb.

5) The exported .mdb file replaces the existing .mdb file and it indicates a current date.

6) Copy the  pcslabplus.mdb file to a pen drive to satellite server

Importing The Master Database (At the satellite lab)

1) Open the C:\PCSLABPLUS on the satellite server

2) Make a backup of pcslabplus.mdb ( C:\PCSLABPLUS\pcslabplus.mdb)

3) Paste the Exported mdb ( pcslabplus.mdb) file in C:\PCSLABPLUS.

4) Open the Export Import .exe click on Import Master.

5) On the Export/Import window click on Apply.Each table will be imported and be marked 'DONE'

Note: Master export should done each time there is update within the database.

 Exporting transactions from the satellite server

Procedure:

1) Open the Export Import exe from the satellite server i.e C:\PCSLABPLUS\ExpoImpo.exe.

2) Click on Export transactions.

3) On the Export/Import window click on Apply.Each transaction that have been modified in each table will be exported.

4) The exported mdb file is placed at C:\PCSLABPLUS\pcslabplus.mdb

5) Copy the pcslabplus.mdb file to a pen drive to be taken to central server

Note: All the transaction which have been modified since the last export will be imported i.e those with a flag 'R'

Importing transaction at the central server
Procedure:

1) Paste the exported .mdb file at C:\PCSLABPLUS in the central server.

2.) Make a backup of pcslabplus.mdb ( C:\PCSLABPLUS\pcslabplus.mdb)

3) Open the Export Import exe at C:\PCSLABPLUS\ExpoImpo.exe

4) Click on Import transaction.

5) On the Export/Import window click on Apply.Each table after importation should be marked 'DONE'.
